## The story

My girlfriend is Japanese and made me aware of Ohtani back in 2018. I follow the Japanese pitchers for the Dodgers and as a Buddhist include items from temples and shrines in Japan to encourage good luck for these pitchers and the Dodgers (I also support Imanaga of the Cubs). There are the 7 lucky Shinto gods and Benzaiten along with Tengu (the fan is their weapon for defending temples) an Oni (the demon image, which is a demon, but it's use represents warding off demons and transformation, which all Japanese players need in order to grow in the transition to the MLB). I also live near Mission San Juan Capistrano and included a rosary and holy water as additional alternative faith support for the pitchers and the Dodgers to reinforce the Dodgers and these Japanese pitchers' success. I update the player's image with the most recent card I've collected.

I have the WS Funko collection for both 2024 and 2025, both are in storage though. I try to keep the shrine to Ohtani, Yamamoto and Sasaki as uncluttered as possible. It's between that and the 2 hobby boxes and an unopened display box for the Tokyo series.
