## The story

Hello Dodgers Nation,  My name is Matt Weeg, and I have been a Dodgers fan ever since my father took me and my family to Dodger games in the late 60’s and early 70’s when we lived in Los Angeles. Raised as a fan of the boys in blue, I have been a die-hard Dodgers fan for 58 years and whenever possible I make a point to catch the team play live with my last attended game being Shohei Ohtani’s 50/50 game in Miami (incredible).   The first thing most people recognize about my man cave is that it is surrounded by Los Angeles professional sports teams with the bulk of my collection being the Dodgers. I started collecting about 40 years ago when I was introduced to the hobby by a fellow Air Force service member and as you can see it has become quite the obsession.  My man cave has 25 different autograph pictures to include 17 legendary Dodgers (Sandy Koufax, Orel Hershiser, Clayton Kershaw, Fernando Valenzuela, Murray Wills, Duke Snider, just to name a few) and 17 autograph baseballs (including Tommy Lasorda and Duke Snider) as well as 50 plus different autograph Dodger rookie cards (i.e. Clayton Kershaw, Walker Buehler, Dalton Rushing, Gavin Stone, Dustin May).   My Dodgers baseball card collection begins with an 1888 Old Judge Series (N172) cigarette card of Shortstop Germany (George) Smith of the Brooklyn Bridegrooms and a majority of the Boys of Summer, such as the 1949 Bowman Gil Hodges, Carl Furillo, and Ralph Branca along with a 1950 Bowman Don Newcombe and a 1951 Bowman Carl Erskine. I also have a beautiful 1954 Topps Tommy Lasorda rookie, but my most cherished Dodgers rookie card is my 1955 Topps Sandy Koufax.    My man cave is exclusively Dodgers memorabilia, but it includes a section of other legendary rookie HOF baseball players such as Harmon Killebrew, Carl Yastrzemski, and Johnny Bench.  I also have a section that includes Rams football and HOF football players and basketball that starts with the Lakers. My man cave is a gathering place within our home when family and friends visit for drinks, a game of pool and to talk sports.   My family and I watch every Dodgers game on the MLB ticket but because we live in Tampa, I am typically the only one left standing when the game ends at 1am our time. I also wear one of six different Dodgers jerseys, during the televised game and only change it after a loss.   Thanks for letting me share my collection and remember always, GO DODGERS\!\!\! My 1955 Topps Sandy Koufax rookie card and autograph picture along with my 1954 Topps Tommy Lasorda rookie card that is displayed next to my Tommy Lasorda autograph picture and baseball directly address to me in gratitude of my 20 plus years of military service and presented by my fellow service members during my retirement ceremony. I am extremely proud of my entire man cave, but these are the two most cherished pieces in my Dodgers collection.
